Volunteering

Saturday Dharma School : We need volunteers for the youth dharma school on Saturday afternoon. This course aims to teach basic buddhist doctrines and values to children and teenagers. We think that young people should learn English in order to become international representatives of Korean Buddhism. The class starts at 1:30 to 2:30 or 3. We provide a 4 hours course for the volunteer s’ training about how to use the textbook, how to bow and meditate.

Summer Dharma Camp (First week of August every year) :

We are looking for volunteers who can help the camp director for moral values course and all type of activities. We welcome children and teenagers from 8 to 15 year old. This camp takes place in an old temple in the mountain area with 70 young people. We want the children to play with eachother in the nature. Smartphones and videos are not allowed…

Meditation class :

If you have a bit of free time before and after the meditation class (20 min in total), you can prepare the snack and tea for the group. The Sunim (nun) or some lay person will show you how to help.

Giving

In order to maintain this temple we need your generous contribution. They are different ways to give.

1- Financial support :

you can contribute to the organization of the meditation class and tea time by giving some money (in offering box). We would greatly appreciate any donation you can offer.
Its also very useful for us to have regular donations in order to plan and fund some important projects for the community. For this reason, we encourage monthly membership if you are regular practionner ( we suggest 30 000 wons per month).

2- Giving some useful items :

There is always a need for useful items like incense, toilet paper, fruits, detergent and soap, vegetarian food (tofu, fruits, rice, vegetables, cakes and cookies, mixed coffee), Children english books (used or new), books about buddhism in English, computers (used).

In order to have more people coming, we need your help for promoting our activities : why not asking your friend(s) to come with you at the center ?

You can also put some informations about us in your Facebook timeline or use the function « suggest friends » which allows us to become friend (with your friends).

We have some presentation leaflet ( in Korean and English) about our temple that you get and give to people in your school, company, local stores and cafes.
